A Romantic August Wedding at Fishermen’s Inn | Linda + Ricky

Linda and Ricky surrounded by colorful summer gardens on their wedding day at Fishermen’s Inn

By August, summer has settled into every corner of Fishermen’s Inn.

The gardens have had months to grow full and lush, colorful blooms line the pathways, and the grounds have that unmistakable end-of-summer abundance that made the perfect backdrop for Linda and Ricky’s wedding day.

Their timeless palette of navy, black, white, and soft neutral florals stood beautifully against all that greenery, carrying from portraits throughout the gardens into a warm, romantic reception inside Fishermen’s Inn.

An Abundance of Summer Portraits

One of the biggest joys of an August wedding at Fishermen’s Inn is seeing the grounds at their fullest. Lush greenery surrounds the property, ornamental grasses soften the landscape, and colorful late-summer blooms fill the gardens and pathways.

Linda and Ricky made the most of the season as they explored the grounds for portraits, moving from quiet garden paths to some of Fishermen’s Inn’s most recognizable spots.

Their classic wedding-day style felt right at home among the landscape. Linda’s gown and soft ivory bouquet looked beautiful against the vibrant greenery, while Ricky’s navy suit added a rich contrast that carried throughout their wedding party.

As the afternoon continued, the bridge and surrounding grounds offered another change of scenery without ever having to leave the property.

Rather than relying on a single portrait location, couples can wander from gardens and pathways to the ponds, bridge, and historic architecture, creating a gallery filled with variety while still telling the story of one beautiful setting.

Timeless Details for a Summer Celebration

Against the fullness and color of the August landscape, Linda and Ricky kept their wedding details beautifully classic.

White and soft neutral florals paired with greenery throughout the day, while navy and black brought an elegant contrast to the wedding party. Candlelight and scattered white petals added a romantic finishing touch, complementing the natural beauty surrounding the celebration.

The result felt timeless; proof that a simple, elegant palette can be especially striking when paired with a setting already filled with seasonal color and texture.

Of course, there was plenty of personality woven into the day, too, from playful wedding-party portraits to a very dapper four-legged guest dressed for the occasion.

Bringing the Celebration Indoors

Inside Fishermen’s Inn, Linda and Ricky’s romantic style took on a warmer feel against the barnwood and natural charm of The Great Room.

White linens, greenery, candlelight, and soft florals brightened the room while complementing the venue’s existing details. Their sweetheart table became a beautiful focal point, framed by cascading greenery and white and blush blooms.

An August Evening at Fishermen’s Inn

As the light began to soften, Linda and Ricky had another chance to step away together and enjoy the grounds.

The same gardens that had been bright and colorful earlier in the day took on a quieter feeling in the evening, while the string lights added a warm glow around the property.

That transition is one of our favorite parts of a summer wedding day at Fishermen’s Inn. A single celebration can move from sunlit gardens and colorful blooms in the afternoon to candlelight, string lights, and an evening spent celebrating with everyone you love.

For Linda and Ricky, August provided the most beautiful setting for it all.

Linda and Ricky, thank you for choosing Fishermen’s Inn to be part of your wedding day. We loved seeing the property become the backdrop for your celebration and wish you both so much happiness in the years ahead.
