Tina and Connor’s September wedding brought together vibrant fall colors, meaningful nods to Tina’s Chinese heritage, and the kind of dramatic weather that made their portraits even more unforgettable.
As storm clouds rolled across the grounds at Fishermen’s Inn, Tina and Connor embraced every part of the day. The changing skies only made the gardens look richer, the flowers feel brighter, and their wedding gallery more striking.
Tina chose two beautiful looks for the celebration: a classic white wedding gown and a vibrant red dress inspired by her Chinese heritage. Together, they offered a meaningful reflection of her heritage while helping bring the traditions of both families into the wedding day.
Both looks felt right at home among the rich colors woven throughout the celebration. Tina’s bouquet featured shades of red, orange, coral, ivory, and burgundy, creating a warm fall palette that continued through the ceremony flowers and reception details.
Her bridesmaids wore deep teal dresses that allowed the colorful bouquets to stand out beautifully. The combination felt elegant and seasonal without relying on a traditional neutral autumn palette.
Tina and Connor exchanged vows indoors beneath a lush floral arch filled with the same warm shades seen throughout the rest of their wedding.
With windows surrounding the ceremony space, they could still enjoy views of the Fishermen’s Inn grounds while keeping their guests comfortable as the weather changed outside.
Having indoor and outdoor ceremony options in one location gives Fishermen’s Inn couples the flexibility to choose what feels right for their day. A changing Northern Illinois forecast doesn’t have to take away from the wedding day experience, or from the opportunity to enjoy the gardens afterward for portraits.
Tina and Connor stepped outdoors as the storm moved across the property, creating portraits filled with depth, color, and atmosphere. The dramatic clouds became part of the scenery, and we cannot say how much we love how these photos turned out.
Against the moody sky, the gardens appeared especially vibrant, and Tina’s bouquet brought an incredible burst of color to every image. Even the rain-soaked brick paths added to the rich, romantic feeling of the gallery.
As the weather allowed, Tina and Connor explored several areas around Fishermen’s Inn for their portraits, from the gardens and pond-side paths to the bridge overlooking the property.
That variety is one of the things we love most about our space. Couples can find intimate corners, expansive garden views, and unique moments without leaving the property or losing time traveling between locations.
Inside The Great Room, Fishermen’s Inn’s warm wood tones and soft lighting complemented Tina and Connor’s fall color palette. Their florals, candles, and table details transformed the room into a welcoming place for both families to gather and celebrate.
After the ceremony and portraits, Tina and Connor made their entrance and began an evening surrounded by their favorite people. Later in the celebration, Tina changed into her red dress. It was another beautiful way to honor her Chinese heritage and add a deeply personal element to the wedding.
